BBC Russian is now available as a dedicated channel on the free cloud-based mobile and desktop messaging app Telegram. Twice a day, the new BBC Russian news channel on Telegram brings users key stories from bbcrussian.com.

The BBC Russian channel on Telegram messenger is available on smartphones and tablets running iOS, Android and Windows Phone; on desktop and laptop devices on Windows and Mac OS, as well as through browser extensions.

The availability of BBC World Service’s languages content on Telegram is the latest in the BBC’s expansion into the world of messaging apps. BBC Persian already has over 160,000 subscribers on Telegram, while other language services are also available on LINE, WeChat and Viber – with more to follow.

The website bbcrussian.com offers a rich content of international and national news and analysis, bespoke video news bulletins and pieces, live and on-demand audio, interactivity and reports - bringing global stories to the Russian-speaking audience and putting Russian and regional stories in a global context.
