Flying Lotus, Kaytranada, Jon Hopkins, Hannah Wants, Solomun and George FitzGerald all join the line-up
BBC Radio 1’s Residency returns in 2015 with a line-up that includes some of the best DJs and producers of the moment. Beginning on January 8, Radio 1’s eight Resident DJs for 2015 are:
Flying Lotus
George FitzGerald
Hannah Wants
Heidi
Jon Hopkins
Kaytranada
Skream
Solomun
Radio 1’s Residency is the strand that brings listeners the biggest names in electronic music - from the underground to the arena, and airs on Radio 1 in two slots on Thursday nights between 10pm – midnight and midnight - 1am. Flying Lotus is paired with Kaytranada, Skream with Hannah Wants, Heidi with Solomun and George FitzGerald with Jon Hopkins.
Skream and Heidi are already on the Radio 1 Residency DJ roster and George FitzGerald returns after a stint at the beginning of 2014. The other names will take over from Moxie, Sohn, Jackmaster, Martin Garrix, Steve Angello and James Blake.
Kaytranada says: “During my highschool days, I used to listen to my favourite DJs mixes on BBC and now, here I am. Damn. I’m going to play the best music for y’all.”
Hannah Wants says: “So so happy to be a part of Radio 1's Residency. I'm really excited to be able to share my sound on such a great platform. Thank you BBC Radio 1!”
Solomun, says: "It's a big honour being asked to be part of BBC Radio 1’s Residency and I didn't hesitate a second – I can't wait to get started."
Flying Lotus, says: "I still can't believe this is about to happen. It'll be a pleasure to invade the UK airwaves for the months ahead."
